- joelsg1: @bigbartabs $MCD On the 395 from SoCal to Tahoe there are 3 MCDs which are reliable bathroom breaks, Mojave, Lone Pine and Bishop. Not much else. Headed to North Tahoe. (Our posts crossed and didn't see yours until after mine.)

Also a few times skiing Mammoth with best buddy born and raised in Bishop... who's sister married into the McCoy family that built Mammoth. Fun place.

I unloaded all my $CENX and $CLF on the spike up this am . Short $AA with puts now . $CLF is a triple from here as Jim Levinthall ( sp) on Halftime suggest . I will be back in this at some point . $SPY is going down soon . Just scalped 25% on some puts I bought this am . Probably play it to the down side late this afternoon. $MCD puts I bought this am on the spike up was too easy . Holding for now up 26 %
- Mikev200: $MCD.... surprised it held up all day, that's a big move for $MCD. Got a huge price upgrade from $290 to $292. :)) Why do they bother with a $2. adj. on a $300 stock?
- phgruver: @Mikev200 $MCD They must not like Big Macs.... This is the kind of stock income investors look for! The current dividend is $7.08/year, a yield of about 2.41%. This is actually a pretty good yield for a strong, growing company, because, over time, the value of the stock and the yield will both increase. I have been in $MCD since $97. That makes my yield 7.3%, with out considering the 317% increase in the value of my stock. You get a few strong performers, like that, in your portfolio, and retirement looks a lot better.
- Mikev200: @phgruver $MCD Yes I agree. I have in-laws who used to work at MCD ( corp.) They were a bit under paid in salary while there but MORE than made up for that with options granted them several times yr. They retired @ 52/56 yrs old.

- RichardinME: @traderbren $MCD Looks like it's down again on an up tape based on a few more cases and no more deaths. Seems like it would be a good trade but earning are coming up and that seems more like a threat then this news.
- phgruver: @RichardinME $MCD Yes, they are blaming the sliced onions, that are unique to the Quarter Pounder. Other restaurants that use onions from the same supplier are pulling the onions. For the time being, the negative news cycle is the biggest problem for $MCD stock.

- RichardinME: @scottrades $MCD That figures. The quarter pounder is the only item on the menu that not frozen and cooked fresh at the time of order. So much for their attempt at offering "diner quality" food.

- traderbren: @DavidK $MCD - open gap to the downside at 279.50 which will fill at some point which is just above the 200d...which may prove as support unless there are more deaths ...hopefully not. As for 250, that may be a stretch unless there is a greater outbreak and sales drop off dramatically.

- traderbren: $MCD - took a flyer on short-dated Calls Oct 25th 295 Calls - this morning for a Quarter Pounder bounce. Just a trade...working for now. Considered longer dated calls but there's no guarantee that we could see further bad news.
- RichardinME: @traderbren $MCD This is almost identical to the $CMG incident 6 years ago. I think about 50 got sick but nobody died. 1 death is tragic but I think this blows over like $CMG. MCD's biggest problem IMO is margins. How much can they make selling 5 dollar meals when they have a starting wage in many places of 20 per hour? This might all be wrong though. The talking heads on CNBC keep talking about how MCD will be screwed if they lose the low-income customer. I see a lot of restaurants backed up with some nice, new, 100k + vehicles. Many are spending 30 bucks or more for two people. Then again, I live in a tourist area so i'm sure demographics vary largely from store to store.

- RichardinME: @Mikev200 $MCD Welcome to the world of analysts and price targets. While its a joke, many times a stock like $NFLX will have a price target of say 500, then it goes to 600. Then the same analysts will "upgrade the PT to 580. What's more insane is the big money listens to this.

- phgruver: @james056 $MCD The price, right now, is at the 50dma, down 5.8%. On the other hand, that's only down to the lower Bollinger Band, of 2 standard deviations. That may or may not be enough to get a snap back rally. Just have to wait and see. If it opens down another 5%, then maybe. If it holds here, then it's a pullback entry. A lot depends on whether or not $MCD can isolate the contaminated product, and how many tons of beef are involved. Any short term bounce could be negated by a more widespread problem.

- joelsg1: $TSLA October 10 setting up to be a crucial day for a few companies: $TSLA has its Robotaxi event, $AMD has its AI day and $MCD is teasing something. Long but hedged the first but thinking it's a sell the event, CIO another top executive departing and Musk's incessant politicking is like negative advertising causing a drag on sales; $AMD hanging just above the 200d with E 10/29 nothing special but perhaps a boost for my largest investment holding $NVDA, and $MCD in small riding the 8d as they've turned around their pricing and suspect some new automation initiative to cut costs, maybe an Optimus robot flipping burgers/fries.
- DrScience: @bigbartabs $DJI Would it were that simple. There are few industrials in the $DJI $DJX. The weighting in the index is led by big dogs $UNH, $GS, $MSFT, $HD and $CAT at 36% of the index. The next 5 add another 22% and include $MCD and $V, then the next 5 add 23% for a total of 75% of the index. The bottom 25% of the index includes $DIS, $NKE, and $VZ. Who thinks our $DJI will charm with animated classics, send shoes to run away faster, or talk them to death? 🤣🤣🤣 BTW... $HON is 15th on the list contributing 3.17%, and $BA is 20th contributing 2.35% to the $DJI

Forcing businesses to provide teenagers a retirement plan?

Hmm so that is why the deli is closed by 4, if even opened today, and the seafood counter is closed by 5. Thank God here in California Maryland, just south of Hollywood Md, the Harris Teeter and GiantFood stores have adequate staff in both the deli and seafood....love the way the steam the shrimp and crab legs for us Yum

There are strategically placed doughnut bakeries all across the state. It's a relatively simple thing to buy a few more delivery trucks and hire a few more drivers. Some logistics to work out, but it sure ain't gonna take 2 years....

This sure made my Day and I'm still holding my Full-position, which is not very good money management...because when a stock is up more than 40%, should take some off, however this is only Day-1, off the that #OK-signal from $MCD today, that it is n ... - traderbren: $MCD - not my ideal trade but it might be worth a burger-bounce it if $MCD can clear the 200d. We could see a continued bounce trade following their system outage. Cheap way to trade it would be via the 22-Mar 282.50 Calls for 2.50 (est) providing it clears the 200-day at 283.45ish.
